FIRE DEPARTMENT
The Village approved a contract with Valley Fire District to provide fire and emergency medical service, which began in October, 2013. This contract was necessary to continue to provide professional fire service to the community’s residents and businesses due to the expense of staffing its own department. Valley Fire District plans on using the existing Fire Station for one of its ambulances to enhance the response time in the Village. We were pleased to have negotiated a new contract in 2016 for ten years.
As the nice weather approaches, we want to remind everyone to have a safe outdoor cooking season. Reach out to our department for safe cooking and outdoor open flame educational materials. We also provide CPR classes, First aid classes, smoke detector programs and many other classes and educational resources. Feel free to reach out anytime with questions or concerns. Stop and see our personnel and equipment at community events!
Your Fire department staff has provided professional service responding to 344 emergency calls this year, many public education classes and the members attending several fire, EMS and rescue trainings. Thanks for your continued support. Have an enjoyable and safe summer season!
